Blog Number nine- Advise

1. Be Personable. Think about who you are writing too and how they will respond. Reach out to the readers and make an impact on them. Get the point across by making them think and really understand.

2. Use Personal Experience. If you use personal experience in your writing it will be a lot easier and fun for you to write. Let alone, will be more exciting for the reader and fun to feel as if the reader knows more about you. Many personal experiences show great lessons and help get points across a lot easier.

3. Be Yourself in your writing. Why would you write about something that isnt really you? While writing, write about how you actually feel and what you know is like you. Use your own personality to spice up the paper and make it reflect YOU!

4. Read your story outloud multiple times. I always have to ready my story outloud to actually get the thought to sound like how I actually want it. Also, it helps with catching little mistakes that your mind just changes as your reading over the paper in your head.

5. Before you sit down to write, get a big mug of warm tea. This will increase your motivation to want to write. It makes your stomach feel warm and fuzzy and puts you in a good writing mood. It will get rid of your other thoughts and all you will have to think about is the paper. :)

If you enjoy a good dramatic show this would definatly be a good show for you. They are on the eighth season now and all full of suspence, drama, love and laughs. You can learn a different moral from each episode. I would 110% recommend you to watch One Tree Hill. So next tuesday night at 8/7c what will you be watcing??

Blog Number Six- Op Eds

The first op-ed I read was called the seat not taken. The title explains a lot about the piece because its all about the authors experience of riding a train multiple times from home to work and back and always having an open seat next to him. He states how he has gotten rid of all the factors of why such a things always happens to him such as maybe bad breath, body odor, or bad hip-hop clothing but the one thing he knows that causes it is his color. He uses ethos throughout the whole piece to convey how he feels about the situation. His argument is very sound, and I definatly agree with him. Why would people let color get in the way of sitting by hime? Empty Seat Link
The second one I read hit a lot closer to him considering im a freshman at the UM in Jesse Hall. The author is also a student at UM just a bit older with him own house. He talks about how he doesnt enjoy annoying freshman coming into their house during parties thinking their cool and being rude and inconsiderate. I definatly agree with this op-ed because when I am older I dont want some stupid freshman barging into my house and not being polite. There obviously is a point to where your trying to meet people and over staying your welcome.House Party Link
And lastly I read, the op-ed Calm Down. This also was geared toward freshman and luckily for me I am a freshman. I definatly agree with this one because the main point of this was that everyone needs a break every once in a while. And how we should not take life to seriously. He explains how life after freshman year will just continue to get harder and more stressful and so we should all enojoy it while we have it. I feel as if this is a very sound argument and that every upper class man I have talked to can give the same advise.Calm Down Link

Blog Number Five- Personality

I feel as if this test was very accurate. The three top types that I got put into definatly explain me. My top type was type 1, which stands for perfectionism. This does describes me. When I was reading about this type, I could definatly see myself. It says that type 1's are very truthful and do the right thing, which most of the time I do. I can not stand liars. Also it says that the hardest part about being one is that you are really hard on yourself. Sometimes I feel as if I put so much pressure on myself because I always want everyone to be happy.
My next type was type 9, which stands for calmness or the peacemaker. I feel as if this should have been my top type because this definatly explains me. I am so easygoing and get along with everyone. When I was reading about this type it states that this type hates pressure. That is totaly me. I dont do good underpressure, I dont like tests. I love to listen to people and give hugs and show affection! I seem to be always laughing and having a good time with whoever I am with.
My last type was my adventurous side, type 7, which I sure do have. I am very energetic and up for anything! While reading about this type the website said that these have a hard time because they feel as if there is not enough time to do everything that they want. I always feel as if I never have enough time to do everything that I want to do. I am very free-spirited and have a wide variety of interests. These three traits do a very great job of describing me.   :)
